Meet the Team

Momo Wiegand

Director of Creative Arts and Marketing

Hello there! I’m Momo, and half of Moss and Mushroom Events. I’m passionate about bringing fantasy into every day life, and that feeling is what drives me. I believe that we all deserve to live out our fantasies.

Ever since I was a child, I’ve been fascinated by folklore and fairy tales. I would immerse myself in these stories and dream of one day setting off on an adventure of my own. As I grew up and life happened around me, I tried to keep that feeling inside me. I decided to become a freelance illustrator right after high school and create my own fairytale worlds through painting. I’ve done illustration work for authors, small businesses, content creators, and everything in between.

In 2020, I decided to shift my focus to something else. I started Moss and Mushroom Studios, an endeavor that would change the trajectory of my life. I started making jewelry with pressed flowers and studied flower folklore and Victorian flower language. Once again, I immersed myself in stories. But this time, I had a way to bring these stories to others through wearable art. It was then that I first became a vendor for my local renaissance festival. All at once, I had found where I was meant to be. Selling my work at a renaissance festival was monumental for me, because now I knew where I belonged. I knew I wanted to make this special place a part of my life.

All these experiences and feelings led me to start Moss and Mushroom Events. I, along with my partner Robert, want to create these special places for everyone to enjoy. I want everyone to feel like the main character of their own fantasy story.

Robert Williams

Director of Event Production

Hi! I'm Robert, and together with my dear friend Momo, we started Moss and Mushroom Events. My journey has been a vibrant tapestry of unique experiences, each adding depth to my expertise in creating magical moments. Early in my career, I worked at Disneyland, mastering the art of guest enchantment and immersive experiences, skills that have proven invaluable in my event planning endeavors.

After honing these skills at Disneyland, I served as a meteorologist in the Navy, where I sharpened my analytical skills and attention to detail. This blend of creative and technical expertise has been essential in crafting the enchanting worlds at our events.

Since 2007, I've been deeply involved in DJing, professional audio, and live sound. My time at Long Beach City College was especially formative; I ran sound tech at events and led the Program Council as President, experiences that fueled my passion for music and event planning. This journey continued at Oregon State University where I studied music and music production, leading to the recent launch of my own recording studio in 2021.

From a young age, I embraced the principles of leadership and community engagement, a commitment reflected in my current roles. I am serving as the Director of Entertainment for the Spokane Renaissance Faire, the Logistics Manager and Exhibit Coordinator for the NWACDA 2026 regional conference, and the Entertainment Coordinator for the Whidbey Renaissance Faire. These positions showcase my dedication to meticulous event planning and fostering vibrant community interactions.

On the home front, I'm happily partnered and a dad to an adventurous 9-year-old. Embracing a lifestyle of diverse and loving relationships, I champion honesty and clear communication. These personal values deeply influence the inclusive and welcoming atmosphere at Moss and Mushroom Events, ensuring every event we plan is not just fun but also a cherished experience.

I’m excited to help bring your fantasy to life with events that are as unique and special as you are. Let’s make some magic happen together and create unforgettable experiences!

Our Story

One rainy day in 2024, Momo asked the question, “If I were to throw a fantasy event in the Pacific Northwest, would anyone even want to go?” The internet responded with a resounding YES. The response was overwhelmingly positive, which gave her the courage to take her dream of hosting such an event and turn it into a reality. Enter Robert. He came across Momo’s posts and reached out to her to offer his help with pulling off this crazy idea. Together they worked to create Moss and Mushroom Events’ first event: A Midsummer’s Dream Fairy Tea Party. Now they work side by side to bring fantasy events to people all over the country.
